Massage Therapy
Our massage times are 'on the table' so please allow an additional fifteen minutes to one half hour for your total appointment time. You are welcome to relax before or after your massage in one of our relaxation areas.
Our licensed massage therapist will begin with a consultation to determine with you which techniques best suit your needs for each session. Our Relaxing Swedish Massage session times and prices are below. Additional charges will apply for deep tissue, triggerpoint, pre-natal, myofascial, medical and other modalities. When performing the massage, the therapist will maintain full draping of the body with the exception of the area being massaged. A full body massage of one hour or more may include the following areas, scalp, neck, shoulders, back, arms, legs and feet. Shorter sessions of one hour or less will be limited to specific treatment areas. All appointments are reserved for the time indicated plus additional time for consultation before the massage and a few minutes rest on the table. Additional time may be made available in one of our private or shared relaxation areas between or after services.

Hydrotherapy, formerly called hydropathy, is probably the oldest form of medical treatment. It involves the use of water for soothing pains and treating diseases. Its use has been recorded as ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman civilizations. Egyptian royalty bathed with essential oils and flowers, while Romans had communal public baths for their citizens. It has been long accepted that hot water springs can improve health by increasing circulation.
Today, hydrotherapy is used to treat arthritis, burns, spasticity, ankylosing spondylitis, musculoskeletal disorders, spinal cord injuries, and stroke patients with paralysis. It is also used to treat orthopedic and neurological conditions in dogs and horses, and to improve fitness. Immersion in water - and doing exercises in water - has always been a popular therapy. Thousands of years of treatments have built an enormous amount of expertise, but the alleged benefits had little supporting evidence from science until approximately 30 years ago. A 2006 survey of research in Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases discusses the vast amount of high-quality studies showing the effectiveness of hydrotherapy. A new field of research focuses on the cost-effectiveness of hydrotherapy vs. other forms of treatment.
